A landscape come alive

Taking three fantastic walks through some of the most interesting and beautiful areas, especially during the spring when wildflowers bloom, creates a weekend filled with vibrant landscapes. The scenery has lush greenery, colourful flowers, and diverse wildlife.

Just the walks themselves are worth the visit, but with the passage of the late winter and early spring rains, the fields, paths, and mountains bloom with a fantastic diversity of flowers.

The mix of locations brings us through a landscape of many beautiful flowers and, if lucky, the chance to see many of the orchids that flower in this area.

These walks allow us to look for several species of Bee orchids and the lovely and delicate mirror orchids.

How difficult?

The walks are rated moderate, which should be comfortable for regular walkers. Sections of the walks will have rough terrain to cross and continuous ascents.

Our daily walks typically range between 10 and 15 kilometres, with an ascent of approximately 500 to 600 meters.

When to come

This holiday is available on two weekends in April 2025, the 3rd to 7th and the 10th to 14th.

April is the perfect month for enjoying the wildflowers. After the rain of late winter and before the hot and arid days of late spring, the days out are a mix of warm winds, clear blue skies, and maybe, just maybe, an odd rain shower.

Our photo album has great pictures from this walking weekend and a photo album of some of the flowers you may see along the way.

We offer free collection from Malaga airport and run two journeys on the arrival day. We try to operate these with your flight times and generally have a mid-morning and mid-afternoon collection.

If you cannot join us on one of our collections, then there are taxis that operate from Malaga Airport to Colmenar.

If possible then we do like to meet up for a tapas and drinks in the afternoon so that everyone can get to know each other, and we can run through the itinerary for the weekend.
